At its core evil is utter selfishness. It's doing something for personal gratification that will hurt many others in the process.
Mitt Romney, and I believe every single Republican in the primary, want to gut or even disband the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in the US. The agency, which came into being as a result of President Nixon with almost complete bipartisan support (1), was brought into being in the '70s. And, thanks to the efforts, unpleasant things like rivers catching on fire due to poisons vomited into river systems by greedy fucktard industrialists was put paid to.
Except in this election, the 2012 election, all the big money arsehats whose commercial bottom line is improved by less environmental regulation, are backing the GOP. Why? Because like under Bush they know the EPA will be rendered further powerless or even disbanded all together. And free them up once more to poison the air we all breathe, the water we all drink or bathe in, and the soil we all depend on for our food, because to do so improves their bottom line. Even as it kills their grandchildren.

It's just utterly appalling. How did it come to this that America is captured by these ghastly monied plutocrats whose personal wealth is more important to them than the legacy of environmental rape and degradation they leave behind? How is it they come to be this way? What about fucking noblesse oblige for fuck's sake?
If these people are part of a faith group—and many profess to be Christian from what I can tell—then how do they logically justify what they do with what their own attested faith asks them to do? Do they honestly think Christ would be saying 'Verily, the air is thine to fill with as much crap as thee can pump out. The trees can take it and anyone who says different is a Communist'?!
Mind is once more boggled.
