Now that's comedy

theBoy has an instinctive grasp of comedy. Changing words to rude words, hilarious singing, and other amusing behaviour.

Tonight he did a twist on PLAYGROUND! which is where he yells the word loudly then clambers on top of you to use your body like playground equipment, such as sliding down your tummy.

The twist? CIRCUS!

He yelled the word, clambered onto the big bed where I was lying with my stupid headache and trying to rest it away, then sat atop my back and started bouncing.

And as he bounced ... he hooted circus music.

Even I as crippled with my headache as I was I found that super awesomely funny, both in concept and execution.

That's mah boy!

TheBoy sounds absolutely awesome! And it's great that you and TheWife give him space and time to use his imagination.

  2. This may sound a little narcissiticy but I thin he's pretty spesh. I got picked up for lunch. He was in the middle of telling theWife about this dream he had where he and I stared in Star Wars. I think I was Anakin. Anyway the dream recountin kept going and going and it's obvious he was just happily telling a story. We kept asking him if it was still the dream and he happily lied and said yes. Only he gave the game away and pointed at the tree next to us at the cafe where we sat outside ofand said 'and the tree was there!' Later I challenged him to a light sabre duel and we crossed blades with a lip-delivered crackle and he old biddy duet at the next table apparently thought a flash mob had just off.

He's turned out to be my life adventure.

  3. Aww. That last line is just sweet. You ought to get it on a t-shirt.

+1 for Cass' comment.. a t-shirt is definitely the way to go!

And there's nothing narcissistic about enjoying time with TheBoy..
even though I haven't dropped sprogs from the lady garden, I feel delight when seeing parents and kids have joyful interactions where they both seem to be genuinely enjoying each other..

  5. It's such a frigging delight. I almost feel he's the me that will beat his demons and not be stopped by fear or body crap. The worst is seeing parents who are mean to their kids. It's almost as if you can't understand why they decided to be parents when they don't seem to enjoy it. I know many people don't plan to be parents but still. Kids are friggin' amazing and I will never tire of hanging out or playing with them.

  6. You are awesome with kids too, Mikey. They can tell you like playing with them. :)

  7. Kids are so joyous to muck around with. All that yucky adult gumph hasn't landed on them and they're free to just revel in play. It's a delight. Plus I admit my maturity levels are not that high...
