Dolly has confirmed politic's worst kept secret by admitting he is off to Cyprus.
"I will be working toward helping the Cyprus saga, working as an envoy to try and resolve that long standing issue," Mr Downer told News Limited in London today.
You know, I don't think he misspoke when he said he would be "helping the Cyprus saga"...

Bahahaha they can *have* him. I don't think he'll be 'helping' anyone, but at least the useless git for the first time in his life won't be suckling off the Australian taxpayer's teat.
Downer going to Cyprus. And I thought the Balinese got a rough deal with plane loads of beer swilling fat bogans going there.

Then why on earth is Kevin Rudd acting all noble and letting him go? He's a useless, hysterical piece of fluff.
Probably because Rudd is being noble. When he failed to win an election I think back in 96 he approached DFAT to see if he could return and rumint was Downer personally kyboshed it. So instead of kyboshing Downer he took the high ground and agreed to help Dolly even though Dolly sure as fuck didn't deserve it.
Better them than us I say.
